Rehab Grand Rounds - Winter 2022: Managing Bone Stress Injuries in Athletes

In UPMC’s Winter 2022 Rehab Grand Rounds, Allison Bean, MD, PhD, and Connor Fultz, MD, discuss identifying and classifying bone stress injuries in athletes, and managing these athletes to facilitate a successful return to sport and reducing risk of future bone stress injuries.

Educational Objectives 

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Analyze diagnostic skills for identifying and classifying bone stress injuries, ensuring appropriate treatment is provided
  • Implement management of athletes with bone stress injury in order to facilitate successful return to sport
  • Identify and manage athletes with Female/Male Athlete Triad, reducing risk of future bone stress injury
