Healthcare Inequalities and Addressing Disparities

In this CME, Nicholas DeGregorio, MD, MMM, FACP and Johanna Vidal-Phelan, MD, MBA, FAAP, discuss how to recognize the nature and root causes of healthcare inequities and the key pillars for addressing disparities, describe the relationships among health disparities, social determinants of health, and health outcomes, and recall UPMC Health Plan initiatives to provide examples for reducing healthcare disparities and improving health equity.
